Meet Sindy Wise

Sindy Wise has spent more than thirty years studying the medicine of plants. From the age of nineteen, she has been quietly obsessed with how botanicals heal, soothe, and shift the way we move through the world. Over time, that obsession found its focus.
Of all the compounds a plant produces, the aromatic ones — the volatile oils, the resins, the molecules that drift on the air — hold a particular fascination for Sindy. They are, she believes, among the most powerful medicinal compounds plants make, and also the least studied. Most people experience aromatics as something that simply makes them feel good. The reality is more interesting: there is real science behind that feeling, and the bridge between aromatic chemistry and human emotion is where The House of Botanicals lives.
A Turning Point in South Africa
Sindy has traveled extensively — through South America and Central America, across Europe from Portugal and Spain to Italy, Sicily, and Switzerland — but a trip to South Africa changed something fundamental. The Cape region is home to fynbos, a Mediterranean-climate plant community of extraordinary diversity, with thousands of species that grow nowhere else on Earth. Walking through it, Sindy encountered aromatic botanicals she had no prior reference for — Cape May, Cape Chamomile, Snowbush — endemic fynbos plants she had read about for years, finally meeting them in their living habitat.
Standing among those endemic flora, smelling resins and oils for the first time in the place they actually grow, every thread of her decades-long study suddenly drew together. The ceremonial use of plants across cultures. The chemistry of volatile compounds. The way scent moves through the body. The reason humans have burned aromatic resins and woods for thousands of years, in every tradition, on every continent. It all connected. The House of Botanicals is the work that came out of that moment.
Craft Meets Industry
Sindy is a Certified Aromatherapist (Aromahead Institute), Herbalist (Rocky Mountain Center for Botanical Studies), and Artisan Incense Crafter (Northwest School of Aromatic Medicine), with ongoing continuing education in herbal phytochemistry through the Elderberry School of Botanical Studies. She has trained in classical French perfumery technique, and applies its precision — the discipline of building scent in layers, of choosing each note with intention — to every formulation that leaves her Colorado studio.
Alongside her botanical work, Sindy has spent more than two decades inside the natural products industry — leading product innovation, formulation, and category strategy at some of the most respected names in the field, including Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy, Lucky's Market, and WishGarden Herbs. That dual fluency, in both the craft of plants and the operational realities of bringing them to market, is rare. It's why every spray in this line meets the standards she would have demanded as a buyer, formulator, and certifier — clean ingredients, defensible claims, traceable sourcing, and real respect for the plants themselves.
On Ethics and Sourcing
Sindy serves on the board of the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA), the trade association that sets ethical and scientific standards for herbal commerce in the United States. The House of Botanicals is a proud Business Member of United Plant Savers, the leading nonprofit working to protect at-risk medicinal plants in North America. Both commitments shape what gets sourced, how, and from where. The brand sells aromatherapeutic sprays — not extractions of endangered species, and never material harvested in ways that compromise the ecosystems or cultures the plants belong to.
The Work Today
Every product from The House of Botanicals is hand-formulated in Sindy's Colorado studio. Each spray draws on the same lifelong study: the ethnobotanical heritage of the plants, the peer-reviewed research behind their effects, and the sensory craft of building something a person will reach for, ritually, when they want to come home to themselves.
Bring intention to your aromatic journey.
With a deep respect for the purity and sustainability of her ingredients, Sindy handcrafts each product with care and intention. She combines the ancient wisdom of plant-based healing with the precision of French perfumery standards to create high-quality, clean ritual sprays and other aromatic treasures. Her vision is simple yet profound: to help people "Bring intention to your aromatic journey".
Every product from The House of Botanicals reflects Sindy's meticulous attention to detail and commitment to offering aromatherapeutic benefits that can enhance and transform lives. Whether it's through a soothing incense, a grounding ritual spray, or a bespoke blend, Sindy invites you to discover the healing and transformative power of botanicals in your everyday life.
