True Citrus bergamia grows nowhere else commercially — only along a narrow strip of coastline in Calabria, in southern Italy, where over 90% of the world's bergamot is cultivated. The Mediterranean sun, volcanic soil, and salt air of this single region produce a fruit whose aromatic complexity has anchored fine French perfumery since the 1700s and given Earl Grey tea its signature character. Our bergamot is sourced from these same Calabrian orchards.
