Fill a room with quiet and depth using Frankincense Aromatherapeutic Ritual Spray. Each mist carries the scent that has anchored human worship for thousands of years — warm and resinous, with a bright citrus-pine lift over a deep, sweet, ambered base. This is the aroma of temples and cathedrals, of the Incense Route and the gifts of the Magi: the oldest sacred scent in continuous use, drawn from the resin tears of the frankincense tree.

The Sacred Resin

Frankincense is not a flower or a leaf but a resin — the fragrant “tears” that seep from the bark of Boswellia trees when it is carefully scored, then harden in the desert air. The finest of all is Boswellia sacra, the sacred frankincense of southern Arabia, tapped from gnarled trees that grow where almost nothing else will. Steam-distilled, the resin gives a clear, warm oil of remarkable depth — the same material that was once traded ounce for ounce against gold.

Incense of the Ancient World

For at least five thousand years, frankincense has been among the most treasured substances on Earth. It built the Incense Route, the great desert trade road that carried Arabian resin to Egypt, Jerusalem, Greece, and Rome. The ancient Egyptians burned it in temple rites and used it in embalming; it was one of the three gifts the Magi carried; it has perfumed the worship of Jewish, Christian, and Muslim traditions for millennia, and still rises from censers and braziers around the world today. Few scents carry a sacred lineage this long or this wide.

The Science Behind the Scent

Frankincense oil owes its bright top note to α-pinene, and its depth to the diterpenes incensole and incensole acetate. Incensole acetate is the molecule behind some of the most intriguing research on incense: a landmark study found that it activates TRPV3 channels in the brain — channels tied to the perception of warmth and to emotional regulation — with calming, mood-supporting effects in animal models. It is a possible biological hint at why people across so many cultures have described burning frankincense as quieting and elevating.

Mist Frankincense into your space when you want to mark a threshold, settle into stillness or meditation, or bring a sense of depth and sacred quiet to a room.

Wild Origins

Steam-distilled from the resin of Boswellia sacra, sustainably tapped from the frankincense trees of Oman — the historic heart of the ancient Incense Route.

Scent Story

Warm, resinous, and balsamic — a bright citrus-pine lift on top, a deep, sweet, ambered incense base below, with the meditative, faintly spicy quality that has made frankincense sacred for millennia.

Key Botanical Constituents

α-pinene and the bright monoterpenes (the resinous top note), with incensole and incensole acetate — the diterpenes studied for warming, mood-supporting effects in the brain.
